The unfortunate Bridget Jules

Adelaide Hospital (now Royal Adelaide Hospital) in the 19th century.

This weekend, as a break from editing my new book and preparing for Christmas, I did some research into Bridget Jules. She was the Adelaide friend and partner in crime of Susan Mason who is mentioned in my book ‘Susan’. I hadn’t been able to find out much about her previously, except that she was a prostitute, and probably Irish.

After discovering from a police report that she was originally Bridget Bradley, I was able to find out quite a lot about her sad and chaotic life. I’ve written a post about it over on my Clogs and Clippers blog – have a peek.
Now it’s back to the Christmas preparations!

Goodreads giveaway – win a copy of ‘Susan’

If you’re a Goodreads member and haven’t yet read my book, here’s your chance to win one of three copies of the paperback version. The giveaway is open to Goodread members world-wide until 13 December.
And if you have read Susan and enjoyed it, I’d really love you to leave a rating or a brief review of the book, either on Goodreads or Amazon (or even both!) It helps other readers to know if it’s worth reading or not.
